It is with deep regret that Local 1347 announces the passing of Retired
firefighter Nicholas Pepe

A Funeral Mass for retired Watertown Firefighter Nicholas Pepe, 82, was
celebrated on Thursday, June 28, 2012, in the Church of Saint Patrick,
Watertown.

Nick was appointed to the Watertown Fire Department in 1963 and drove the
back of the hook and ladder truck, becoming one of the two oldest tiller
drivers in Massachusetts. He served for 29 years and was retired 19 more. He
was a strong union supporter and served as local 1347 Secretary Treasurer
for many years.

Nick's son Michael has followed in his father's footsteps and is a proud member 
of Local 1347.
